Should you use emojis in Google review replies?
Short answer
It depends on your brand. A friendly local business can use a light emoji or two in replies to positive reviews; a law firm or medical practice usually shouldn't. Never use them in replies to complaints.
Rules of thumb
- Match your brand voice — playful brands can, formal ones shouldn't.
- Keep it to one or two, and only on positive replies.
- Never on a negative or sensitive review; it reads as dismissive.
Consistency matters more than the emoji itself. Whatever tone you choose, every reply should sound like the same brand — which is easy to hold when your voice is defined up front.
